The Salamanca Football Program (NY) has signed a 3-year agreement with Athlete Intelligence.  The Warrior Football Team, led by Head Coach Chad Bartoszek, has selected the CUE Sport helmet sensor to track and manage head contact exposure for its players.

CUE Helmet SensorWhen asked about the decision to implement the Athlete Intelligence Head Impact Monitoring System, Coach Bartoszek expressed, “We will use this data to identify our strengths and weaknesses in terms of an individual’s technique as well as adjustments we may need to make when coaching our practices.”

When the Salamanca Football Coaching Staff was first introduced to Athlete Intelligence, they were instantly impressed.  As the game of football evolves, it is important for Salamanca to stay ahead of the curve.  Many of the Coaching Staff members are also involved with USA Football, an organization dedicated to strengthening safety in the sport.  Most recently, there have been initiatives to reduce the amount of contact in practices, which the Athlete Intelligence system will greatly assist with.

“Access to impact data will help our coaches identify opportunities that improve us on the field,” Bartoszek added.  “We have to be able toHead Impact Trends identify which athletes need additional coaching and technique adjustments which is exactly why we invested in this technology.”

The Athlete Intelligence CUE Sport Sensor is placed inside a football helmet between the padding. During a session, the sensors collect the count, location, and severity of each head impact.  Following each session, Team Staff can access automated reports highlighting key trends and workload data.  Throughout the season, reports will identify athletes and position groups who are performing above team averages and require additional work on their technique to remove the head from further contact.

“When I first had an opportunity to meet the Salamanca Football staff, it was very clear the type of environment they wanted to provide for their players,” said Andrew Golden, Director of Business Operations for Athlete Intelligence.  “The Coaching staff has set a high level of expectations of doing things right by their athletes and putting them in a position to play at their best and safest,” Golden added.

Athlete Intelligence is the go-to system for many football teams across the nation at the youth, high school, and college levels of play.   When asked directly, many teams select Athlete Intelligence because of its affordable package options, ease of use, and automated reporting capabilities.  Teams who use the Athlete Intelligence system find value in its capabilities to break down key head contact patterns critical to addressing a player’s performance, technique, and impact workload.  Athlete Intelligence provides the data analytics necessary to help players remove crown-of-head impacts, reduce head contact workloads, and minimize the risk of head injuries.
